MLCC Mission Statement

Messiah Lutheran Children's Center will provide a safe and loving Christian environment where each child will be able to grow intellectually, physically, artistically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

Half-Day Program

Our program is designed for children who will be between the ages of two years and four years by September 30, 2009.

We offer a half-day, preschool program which will operate during the Knox County school year. The twos and threes will experience purposeful play in an age-appropriate environment. The fours' program will emphasize kindergarten readiness activities. The children bring their own lunch. A snack will be provided.
Registration for Fall 2009 begins March 10.

Curriculum

A theme-based curriculum will reflect the latest research in best education practices. Developmentally appropriate goals will be carried out through individual, small, and whole group activities.

The curriculum will include:

• Cognitive/Intellectual Development
  Literacy language, math and science concepts, social studies
• Artistic/Creative Development
  Art, music, dance, drama
• Physical Development
  Gross and fine motor skills, health and personal safety
• Social/Emotional Development
  Communication, self-esteem, respect for others, dramatic play
• Spiritual Development
  Weekly chapel, prayer, Bible stories, songs

As weather permits, our children are allowed supervised freedom of play in daily activities on our Little Tykes playground.

Messiah Lutheran Children's Center (MLCC) is a non-profit childcare center. Our purpose is to provide a Christian environment with nurturing care and educational experiences for young children. No class will have more than eight children.

We are licensed by DHS and are participating in the TN STARS program to insure excellence.
