Sunday evening youth gatherings
August 21 and August 28 - 5:30 pm 

Youth 6th-12th will meet together for the first youth gathering of the academic year on Sunday, August 21 at 5:30 pm. Parents, please plan to attend. You will need to sign consent forms and receive information for the upcoming year. Check bulletin and emails for location.

Our first learning event will be held  August 28 at 5:30 pm. Youth 6th-8th will receive confirmation instruction. Youth 9th-12th will join together for spiritual learning/discussion.

Worship in the City® - August 26 & 27

Would you like to go to Worship in the City®, Knoxville 2011? This event will be held August 26 & 27 at World’s Fair Park. This annual outdoor celebration festival will have two stages featuring many popular Christian artists. See  www.worshipinthecity.com. A group from Messiah will be going on Saturday, August 27. Scheduled to perform are Third Day, Hawk Nelson, Blind Boys of Alabama and Alberto and Kimberly Rivera. We will meet at the church at 6:00 pm. Note: as of 7/20 actual concert time has not been released.

Ticket cost including tax and fees is $30.51 per person and includes all stage and park access for the day. If interested, contact Angela Kronau (arkronau@yahoo.com) by August 15.

TEC (Teens Encounter Christ) is movement of personal Christian Renewal within the church. It originated in Missouri under the name “Show Me” TEC. In 2002, folks from North Carolina brought TEC to Tennessee with the guidance and help of the Holy Spirit. It is a highly structured, well-thought-out method of renewing the faith of individuals, the congregations from which they come, and the environments in which they live. TEC is presented as a united effort of laypersons and clergy to aid congregations in the development of young Christian leaders.

A TEC retreat is an encounter with Christ in which the participant becomes part of a community abounding in God’s grace. It enhances and strengthens personal relations with Christ, with our Christian brothers and sisters, and with our community. A TEC retreat is coming face to face with Christ.

At the upcoming weekend, Aaron Liner and Kelsey West will be attending as TECites (first time attendees.) Serving in leadership positions are: Lauren Solberg - WHEAT Team Director; Meaghan Liner - Youth Head of Music; Cameron Driskill and Kelly Cheak - Outside Team Members; Jake Miller - Youth  Head of Kitchen. Pastor Eric Murray will serve as Spiritual Director.

Please keep these folks in your prayers, as well as the 62 other team members and  the 20 other TECites who will be participating in this weekend.
