Welcome to Messiah Lutheran Church
You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill...
Okay, so actually we're not on a hill. We're just west of Bearden Hill at the intersection of Papermill Drive and Kingston Pike. But, we do have lights, and love to let them shine.
In our 58th year, Messiah has a rich history of letting its light shine in our community and around the world. We're a medium size community of faith, a part of the much larger Christian tradition known as Lutheran (ELCA). Read More »

Sundays at Messiah
At Messiah our form of worship is known as "liturgical," meaning literally "a work of the people." Thus, in worship, you will witness the assembly standing, sitting, kneeling, and responding (through words, songs, and silence.) In other words, for Lutheran Christians, worship is not passive, but very much an act - a work in which we all participate.
Of course, worship is much more than what can be explained here. So, we invite you to come and see. Come join our assembly as we seek to worship God as he meets us in word and sacrament, in silence and song, in good news announced and in peace shared.
Sunday Worship Schedule
8:30 AM - Worship with Holy Communion
9:45 AM - Sunday School for all ages
11:00 AM - Worship with Holy Communion
A service of healing is included with Holy Communion on the third Sunday of each month. Those desiring have the opportunity to receive a personal prayer and blessing.
