Messiah Lutheran Church, Knoxville TN

Messiah is pleased to host many musical and theatrical groups as part of the ongoing Messiah Concert Series for members and the community. Performers have included The Word Players (a local acting troupe) and pianist Edward Pierce. Organists from around the world have played recitals on Messiah's Andover pipe organ, most recent of which was Douglas Bruce of Switzerland. Others performers include the Halls Madrigal Singers led by former organist, Allan Hoke, and former member and harpist, Elizabeth Farr. Plans are underway for the 2008 season now.

This series has expanded into a Coffee House series in conjunction with the Youth Ministry. These informal concerts in the Fellowship Hall have been a fun time for the entire church family. We have hosted Lost and Found, a Christian Rock duo. The Normies, guitarists Kris Litman and Nick Jenkins, also played here to benefit the ELCA World Hunger Appeal.
